Guiding Principles

The New England Performance Excellence Initiative – is a collaborative contribution to the maintenance and improvement of the state of the New England region where we live and work.  We invite public sector and private sector organizations to join us in this voluntary alliance to promote ‘performance excellence’ across the New England region.

By joining the NEPE Initiative, Members and Partner Organizations agree to support the following Guiding Principles:

1. Raise Measureable Performance

The primary aim of the New England Performance Excellence Initiative is to raise measureable performance in the New England community-at-work by widely reporting the results of those organizations willing to share their achievements.

2. Stimulate Growth & Investment

To inspire measureable performance in economic growth, and to stimulate and attract increased investment into New England organizations due to investor’s improved perceptions of local management and personnel as ‘high-performance’ compared to competitive alternative regions.

3. Encourage Open Participation

Non-sectoral. Open to public sector (state & local government, school systems, public works, etc.) private sector (public and private companies), special interest organizations and community groups aspiring to the principles of ‘performance excellence’.

4. Performance Excellence Diversity

The New England Performance Excellence Initiative is performance methodology neutral. System ‘neutrality’ allows participants to be exposed to all methods of performance excellence without any proprietary constraints, and to participate no matter what performance management methods or processes they may practice.

5. Performance Management for Results

The New England Performance Excellence Initiative is a measureable - results driven program designed to engage the New England community-at-work in the conscientious practice of ‘performance excellence’ in its varied and evolving forms.
